The puppies had their first official outing today, except for the impatient trips into the sun to see eye color. They had alot of fun and did their share of whining, nursing and playing.
This is "Granite Chief" ~ I can't figure out his expression yet, as he looks different from the others, but I don't know if it's because of his color. His eyes are smaller than the others. He might have blue flecks or brown eyes.
This is Hercules ~ He's much braver since I named him! He seems to have 2 brown eyes.
This is June Bug ~ She's looking like she has a blue eye on the off side.....better than the judge's side I suppose. She has been my favorite in personality, though the others are starting to catch up. She decided one night to fling out of the whelping box and take a tour of my living room. I looked out there and could see her running around the floor in the dark. She is full of herself!
This is Rose Bud ~ She has always had the prettiest face to me and I'm also loving her profile. She also seems to have a blue eye on the judge's side. Julie asked me how upset I was. I said on a scale of 1-10, it was about a 7. But luckily I love sable-merles even with blue eyes. I think our standard needs to be changed to include them. There are too many beautiful collies who get dumped in the ring because of eye/coat color. A great dog is a great dog in my book. I love white on arabians, especially socks and blazes. Thank God I wasn't just looking for a mare with chrome ~ I would have never picked Shahara. I don't think she has one white hair on her!!
