Ok, so I'm not completely ecstatic that it was a reserve BUT it was a 4pt reserve AND she is a puppy so I really am ok with it. Cardiff also was Best Puppy all weekend and won Best in Sweeps the first day. The entry on the sweeps wasn't remarkable by any means, but the puppy bitch that she beat I could take home with me. She's very pretty and nice mover. Oh, and the reserve was under Jeff Silverman Presley, the breeder of Desi (Ch. Ballyhara Strike Up The Band ROM). I thought he would like Cardiffness. This weekend was fun.
Here is Taylor being shown under Tommy Coen. What a lovely bitch. She got a Major Reserve 2 of the 3 shows and a major under Mike Van Tassell. She was my biggest worry with Soleil. Miriam said the same thing to me, about Soleil being her biggest worry. Soleil's just ready & beautiful, but Taylor is also frickin' beautiful and they are very similar (and parents are littermates), so it was nice to be in competition with her.
Cardiff won her class under all three judges. Here she is getting looked at in Winners. I put this photo up more because I like the way I look, rather than Cardiff. But, I'm vain like that.
Here is the dog I had the nightmare about in my RV Dreams post (GCh. Wyndlair Cherokee Vindication). Now, who would ever think he'd come all the way here from WI and make my dream come true????????????????? Isn't he beautiful????? He's Squishy & Soleil's 1/2 brother, or an Avalanche son. What a lovely head he has and just a FLUFF BALL!! It was nice to go over him, as I thought I'd have to drive all the way to Tulsa to touch him. Not that I'm not going to do that now because I still am, but cool that they came to California. I think he won Breed under Van Tassell, but I'm not completely sure.
Here is Niffness in Sweeps. What a poser!! I clicker trained this puppy 1x when she was about 5 months old and that was it. She knows what to do and where to place her feet. I just love her. AND, she got cool toys for her wins, a towel & lots of crystal. Plus a bunch of very gorgeous ribbons! I would have taken the fully PURPLE ribbon, but purple & white was still nice.
In Winners under Mike Van Tassell, he couldn't take his eyes off of Cardiff & Soleil. I really thought one of my bitches was going to win.
Soleil in the Open Sable class being shown by Suzy Royds. She did a great job with her and also a beautiful head trim and groom job. Soleil was an angel with her! Thank you Suzy!!!!
The Fluff Ball here. Blondie. Gotta love it!
In the Open Blue bitch class, Van Tassell had a harder time with Taylor and another bitch, but at the end, switched Taylor to the front. In Soleil's class, she went to the front right away, as did Cardiff. Sometimes this is an indication of love. Sometimes not.
Love the look on Barbara's face!! Pretty, pretty Taylor! She has 3 majors now.
Anyway, in Winners at the end, the judge compared these two girls together and went with Taylor. Then he brought in his 2nd place Open Blue bitch and she was Reserve.
When I was taking the Best Puppy photo with Mike, he said my Open Sable bitch was going to be his winners but at the end, he said Taylor had a cleaner head. I went over her, as I haven't for a few years and she is quite lovely. Very lean and clean. Soleil is clean also, flat bones, but she has more width. I love to hear what judges say and why they made certain choices because it's not always what you think it is. I knew it wasn't the blue eye, because I've shown under him before and felt he would like her. But then there was Taylor. Hahaha!!
I was going to breed Soleil this season and decided not to. I have 3 bitches I could breed and not sure what I'm going to do. She is a gorgeous bitch and has so many beautiful qualities. It has to be right all the way around so we'll see what happens in the future. I'll keep showing her as much as I can, with training Summer & Soleil's coat. She still can use 6 minors besides her second major.
AND I have to thank Denise AGAIN (thank you thank you thank you!!!!!!) for taking all of these photos. She is just sooooooo wonderful!! There are always plenty to go thru and I understand there will be a YouTube video of Cardiff to come. I will post that and my win photos. Bye for now!!!!
