Ali'is First Ride Out Since Tevis ~ I Want An iPhone..........

 

This is pathetically stupid and boring and you have to tilt your head (or your computer if you want) but that is why you keep coming back to my blog. For bad horse videos and 981 pet photos of the puppies. Thank God Donna had to send me this 4 minute video in sections so you only see one section. It makes me laugh though and Ali'i's butt is so buff looking!

This was Chubby's first ride out since Tevis and I guess he still loves me because he jumped in the trailer and was very animated on the trail. I love him. He was fun, (SPOOKY) and strong. What more could I ask for. The time off did him good. 

The fall colors on our favorite trail were GORGEOUS and even though Donna sent a sepia toned photo, you can still get the idea. Beautiful treatment of the photo. We just live in a beautiful area and the riding is spectacular!

We were about a mile from the trailers and my rein broke at the snap. Glad it didn't do it at Tevis, but I have cable ties in my saddle pack. Like I've mentioned before, they are the greatest invention! Donna had a carbiner she loaned me to temporarily fix the rein so I used that instead ~ another handy little device.

On her iPhone she has a GPS that told us how far we went. We didn't go very far. Like 5.5 miles and in 2 hours or something slow like that. Because my leg hurt from a tangle in the hotwire last week and I wanted to give Ali'i an easy ride, it made sense to go that slow. But in the future we gotta cut that out. We need to be more aggressive with the miles and speed and stuff like that. But, we get out there and just wanna have fun and Donna takes a lot of photos. So, that is always good. There should always be days just to go slow and enjoy the scenery.

Sage & Thrill ~ 9 Weeks ~ Cuteness Abounds

So.....a bunch of pictures. It's really hard to just put up 5 when I took 217 today. Well, maybe I only got 5 good ones, but there are just plain cute photos of Sage & Thrill playing. Sage has her ears in tape & cross-braced. Thrill's ears are out. Sue is such a rebel.

It's pretty hard to imagine 9 weeks ago the puppies were only about 1/2 a day old at this time. And now, they are so adorable, and I know in a month they'll be less of the little puff balls with their gorgeous PLUFFY coats and long guard hairs. I wished they could double the time from about 6 weeks to 12 weeks. I would be ok with that. I carry Sage all over because I still can. She loves it. I love it.

How cute is this? Pretty obvious who is Sue's puppy. 

I love this photo. The puppies watch important Border Collie stuff. This girl, Quick, who's 12 years old is like Cardiff ~ just loves the puppies. She could come and live with me in a heartbeat!

The Stare Down

Ali'i does this to me. He's the only horse that makes me feel guilty for having my coffee first in the morning before I feed him. I tried to sneak out early to let the chickens out and the boys were way on the other side of the pasture happily grazing. Munching munching munching on beautiful dewy early morning pasture. Didn't work. It's like he can see my fluffy pink robe and he comes running over to the fence to do the guilt stare. I know if he was loose by the house he'd probably follow me from window to window. I'm sorry boy. I'm still sleeping before my coffee. It's just the way it is.

The Thrill again! He's probably checking out his new friend the 12 year old Border Collie who LOVES him!!! Quick is like Cardiff. Patient, playful and pluffy to bite!!! What more could a collie puppy ask for????

Gift From Estonia

Sue's sister took a 3 week trip to....overseas.....and Estonia was one of the places she went. I suck because I don't remember if the whole 3 weeks was there or not, but regardless, Sue asked her to find something for me which is the keychain above. Penny had EVERYONE on her tour looking for her to find something with a collie on it and because of it she won the honor of being the "Best Shopper". So funny! Anyway, I got this pretty key chain and the collie is very nice looking!

And I love this more about it!!! How cool is this????

The Thrill Is Gone.........But Happy Birthday Sue!!!!!

Poor Sage Brush has the big sad eyeballs tonight......her little brother is in his new home with Sue and she's missing him........

The puppies got dropped off with Sue today while I went to UC Davis with Donna & her gelding Atos. Sage had a play day with Thrill in his new home and Sue said they were so much fun. I went to go pick her up on the way home and she was sound asleep on the beddie next to Thrill. I hope he wasn't as sad as she was when he woke up. She's the only baby puppy here now.........bbbblllllaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa..................

Tomorrow are eye checks so she'll see him again for a few hours. Maybe she'll feel better when she gets to play with him again. I had a big talk with Cardiff this am and told her she needs to take up the slack. She listened intently and understood exactly what I said. Thank God for Niffy.

He's lost it. He's been wearing this jacket for a month and didn't notice. He says his clients have got to think he's on the downslide. Thank God I'm in his life to notice this stuff before he really gets white trash.

Ok so this is just the facts: I'm trying not to gloat because it might be unbecoming.......

Cardiffness was Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Helga Kane (thank God because it would have SUCKED if she wasn't). Helga asked me if she had done something for her at Tulsa and I said "Yes" and she said "I am so glad she still is just as beautiful".....(Ok......a little gloating)

Cardiff was then Reserve Winners Bitch under Muriel Purkhiser AND Soleil was Best Opposite Sex to the Best of Breed.  That was FUN with Soleil!!! There was a gorgeous move up bitch (Cardiff was Reserve to her in Ventura) and a veteran bitch who also was so pretty I was worried Soleil was going to be dumped all weekend with those girls there.

That was yesterday. Then Ray of Sunshine came to our house and drank water and we played with the puppies and talked about pedigrees. That also was FUN!!! Ray you are wacky cool in such a Maybelline way.

Today Cardiffnesssssssssssssss was Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Pati Merrill AND Soleil AGAIN was Best Opposite Sex to Best of Breed. Laura Weiss took Soleil in and when we were taking the photo Pati said "And I DID notice her blue eye". Cool Bitchen. Soleil was Stellar with Laura. Good girl Blondie!!!

Then Niffy was Winners Bitch/Best of Winners under Heidi Mendez and Soleil was Select Bitch. Heidi told me she just LOVED Cardiff ~ that she just was crazy about her from the minute she saw her. Me too. Like every day.

So, it was a GREAT weekend but the biggest thing that SUCKED is every major in bitches (4) broke so Cardiff is minored out and still needs her majors. The good news is she's still just coming into coat and hasn't been in season yet. 

The weekend also was fun as my friends Marilyn & Lloyd came up to the shows and on Friday they came here and we looked at the horses, dogs & played with the puppies. Then we went to dinner and talked a lot about horses (Tevis) and dogs. They are sweet people and very dedicated to their animals.

This is in Winners yesterday. Cardiff looks well behaved here, but she was WILD and someone did mention I kinda set myself up because of her name, but what about Tirzah & Soleil???? It's them. Or it's me. Or it's just me and them. But you can't say they don't like showing! I love showing Cardiff because she is wild, but when I ask her to pose, she's spot on.

My puppies have 9 toys (I counted) just on the bedroom floor and they seem to be old news. These all came out of the closet via Sage's handy little mouth. 

And, when I don't bend down and play tug with any of those toys, they tug my poor pajamas. I just keep hearing ripping. I hope Sue is happy at how well I've trained her darling Thrill!
