I know I repeat myself here because this photo was posted in "How I Got My Dogs" a few years back but it might be worth repeating. I did get a Tracking Dog Title on this collie ~ my first collie Kiita. I do not remember the judges names, except the judge standing had Goldens and he was VERY, VERY nice. The judge kneeling next to Kiita and I was extremely MEAN..... He was actually bowing to me in this photo because he realized how mean he was before I started my test and then he had to eat our tracking dog dust because Kiita flew so fast to retrieve that there glove in my hand. Ha Ha Ha. Memories. They are so worth something. That was my first biggest dog show smile ever, to that date ~ 1984ish.

A great, very comprehensive book on the Tevis Cup, the history and important individuals who have contributed to the development, allure and romance of this historic race. This was a very engaging book ~ I couldn't put it down til I was finished. A wonderful account of the life of Julie Suhr and her love of horses, endurance, the famous Tevis Cup & world travels. She has lived a magical life. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves animals. Written with a great sense of humor - Dr. Martin Goldstein DVM: The Nature of Animal Healing
This book reads like a novel. Goldstein is a conventionally trained vet who, because of his own ill health, changed his practice to include a wide range of alternative healing modalities. I love this book. I originally read it when I was 11 and recently picked it up again. (I've seen the movie some 15 times.) The movie itself was quite a feat and is still beautifully done even in this day and age.
Favorite Movies
- Dances With WolvesWhat's not to love about this movie, though I can hardly watch it now. I went to the premiere in Los Angeles and cried hysterically thru most of the movie. Not just little sobs.....hysterical. I was a Native American Indian.
- The World's Fastest IndianI'm not sure why I hadn't heard of this movie prior to finding it on Netflix but it is really pretty excellent. It's definately on my top 10 list and one I could watch many times. Anthony Hopkins could eat shit and I think I'd still love him ~ In this movie (which is a true story) he is funny, wacky, innocent and lives and accomplishes a dream that really seems pretty unreachable. I still laugh at some of the scenes when I remember them.
