A LIFE OF MY DESIGN
"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us, it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others."
The above speech by Nelson Mandela was originally written by Marianne Williamson who is the author of similar material.
One Collie This blog cracks me up! Her Tate is Zoe's 1/2 brother.
It looks cold where she lives!
I think it's Two Collies now.
Karen's Musings & Endurance Ride Stuff Karen has done more for the barefoot booted horse than probably anyone. Great site, great information and I love her pictures.
EasyCare Main Blog Great Blog/site for anything that's new with the EasyCare Hoof Boots. There are other boots out there, but these are working so well for my horses I can't recommend them enough. The company is really on the cutting edge of information on the booted/barefoot performance horse and the fact that they are constantly researching and upgrading their products and studying the physiology of the horse and what is best for their feet is inspiring. Garrett Ford's horse The Fury was the recipient of the Haggin Cup at Tevis this year. A coveted honor and dream come true for him. A dream for come true for us who believe in keeping a horse barefoot.
Easy To Spot Dalmatians & Collies Julie's the reason I am doing this blog.....she's the reason for alot of things ~ She was there when I met Pierre for one.....
Collies and Life Another Canadian friend. It's cold where she lives too!
Quote
Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined ~ Henry David Thoreau
"There are only two ways to live your life.
One is as though nothing is a miracle.
The other is as though everything is a miracle."
~ Albert Einstein
Until One Is Committed
Until one is committed, there is hesitancy, the chance to draw back, always ineffectiveness. Concerning all acts of initiative (and creation) there is one elementary truth, the ignorance of which kills countless ideas and splendid plans: that the moment one definitely commits oneself, then Providence moves too. All sorts of things occur to help one that would never otherwise have occurred. A whole stream of events issues from the decision, raising in one's favor all manner of unforeseen incidents and meetings and material assistance, which no man could have dreamed would come his way.
Whatever you can do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic to it.
~ Goethe
Favorite Books
Rhonda Byrne: The Secret A must read ~ a no-brainer!
Marnye Langer: The Tevis Cup ~ to finish is to win A great, very comprehensive book on the Tevis Cup, the history and important individuals who have contributed to the development, allure and romance of this historic race. The stories alone on numerous characters made it a fascinating and outright entertaining read. I found I am not the only groupie when it comes to anything Tevis!
Jane Roberts: Seth Speaks This was a book my mom and I used to read together. Very defining in shaping my view on life at a young age.
Julie Suhr: Ten Feet Tall, Still
This was a very engaging book ~ I couldn't put it down til I was finished. A wonderful account of the life of Julie Suhr and her love of horses, endurance, the famous Tevis Cup & world travels. She has lived a magical life. I highly recommend it for anyone who loves animals. Written with a great sense of humor
Dr. Martin Goldstein DVM: The Nature of Animal Healing This book reads like a novel. Goldstein is a conventionally trained vet who, because of his own ill health, changed his practice to include a wide range of alternative healing modalities. I recommend it to all of my puppy people to get them in the right frame of mind to own one of my collies.
Margaret Mitchell: Gone With The Wind I love this book. I originally read it when I was 11 and recently picked it up again. (I've seen the movie some 15 times.) The movie itself was quite a feat and is still beautifully done even in this day and age.
Favorite Movies
Dances With Wolves
What's not to love about this movie, though I can hardly watch it now. I went to the premiere in Los Angeles and cried hysterically thru most of the movie. Not just little sobs.....hysterical. I was a Native American Indian.
The World's Fastest Indian
I'm not sure why I hadn't heard of this movie prior to finding it on Netflix but it is really pretty excellent. It's definately on my top 10 list and one I could watch many times. Anthony Hopkins could eat shit and I think I'd still love him ~ In this movie (which is a true story) he is funny, wacky, innocent and lives and accomplishes a dream that really seems pretty unreachable. I still laugh at some of the scenes when I remember them.
