I had the LONGEST drive home from Southern California ~ I don't know why because I've done it 1000 times, and you'd think I didn't win at all, so I don't know what was up but I'm glad I'm home. I was soooo glad to see my other dogs, especially baby Sage, who's no baby any more. I'm oddly attached to her, and part of it feels like she was a singleton, even though she had a littermate. So good to be home and fluff up some collies and present the family with the new Ch!.
Anyway, when I got on my laptop Randy had 3 photos for me to look at and POST!!! Did I say how much I LOVE HIM!!????!!!! Out of all the gazillion dog show photos I've gotten and paid for, his are always excellent. He gets my dogs AND me (and the judge...I think....) in nearly every photo. The all-rounder photographers are really a hit and miss for me. I have spent a lot of money on very shitty dog show photos, but again, being the journalist I am, I want a record, and a photo record is even better, even it it's not seen except by me.
Anyway, Cardiff was moved up to Best of Variety today and was Select Bitch under Mike McKenzie. While the shows have been very small, in comparsion to years (ago) past, there was still a very pretty line-up of Special Bitches & Dogs and Cardiff was in competition with two bitches today who are absolutely gorgeous, so I love that kind of competition and thou both the bitches had their wins this weekend it was nice to go over them today.
Cardiff now has 2 pts towards her Grand Championship Title and while I S T I L L think it's a "dumbshit" award it does keep champions out in competition and that is a good thing. We should be able to see our champions after they have finished to see if they are holding quality, or it was a fluke (not hard to do) that they finished. It's nice to see collies in mature years, and still see how beautiful they are, plus, it's a way to look a future breeding prospects. So, in that respect, the title has it's merits, IMO. Now that Niffy has those points, I plan to finish her GCh. title.
Fun, fun weekend but I am ready for beddie and maybe a long horsey ride this week. And Cardiff has already spent a fair amount of time barking at the fence. Good girl Niffy!!!
