The last two months have been interesting at best and I wasn't always here to tend to chicken duties. So when things settled down I had 3 hens sitting on eggs. I wasn't about to pull them out to crack them open for breakfast, so I have been buying eggs from the market.
Anyway, I was gone for 6 days and when I came back, these two babies were hoppin' around. Both mothers take care of them, but last night the buff hen was on the ground with both babies under her and the Banty hen was in her box. I have another hen on about 12 eggs, but so far no new babies. It will be interesting to see if I get any more.
I also lost a white guinea hen, who probably went to lay on eggs somewhere away from the chicken house. I found feathers when I was mowing the front of the property. The circle of life........but there are guinea eggs in the pile.
