I am now officially not staring at a litter of pretty puppies (or my puppy) 24/7 and it is good timing because horse riding is in the air. Aura came home from Jeremy's after a 3 month stay to heal her injury. She's seen the chiropractor 2x's in the last month and looks good, but still is a little under weight. While she was gone I thought a bit about riding her and what I want to do this year. My original goal was to do multi-days this spring and ride her in Tevis in August. That isn't going to happen. So, I am flexible and I guess that's why I have more than one riding horse. Shit happens.
Khaliq went to Jeremy's to get her feet trimmed & pick up mommy. Have I mentioned how much I love this filly???? She was great in the trailer and while she had her moments of Arabian Animation, she also showed how bright she is when she got hung up in the lead rope a few times and waited for us to fix things, RATHER than flailing around like some psycho horse. Um.......did I post something like that recently???? Anyway, here she is all posey and cute. I would love to get her cleaned up, shed out more, and get some GOOD photos of her, but these will have to do for now. She is her grandfather all the way!
Sooooo because my riding plans changed this year, I may condition Ali'i again and do some rides and Aura may hang out in the pasture to build up some muscle, put on weight and maybe have a date with some frozen Khemis this summer.......m a y b e . . . .
In the meantime Khemali'i has been clipped. And I have to say there is nothing more disgusting than having tiny horsey hairs blown all over you in the breeze, but I must say.....my handsome burro makes my heart skip a beat. Furry horsey hairs & all! And he was such a good boy with the clippers.
Ali'i really isn't dippy in back like this photo shows, but he does have a big butt ♥ All that hill work we did for Tevis is still there. I've taken him out a couple of times and he is so fluffy and it's warm here now, so now at least part of him is cool. He was such a good boy today and stood there like a pro for several hours while I clipped him with my dog clippers. We'll do more another day.
Tracking may be done, or done in this next week. I'll do another easy track with Sage locally and not sure about Kai. Sue is injured due to a dog I bred (bllllaaaaahahahaaaaaaaa) so she won't be tracking til.............................???? I keep telling her she should have named him Entais Go Slower Please! Anyway, I think she has til November to get better. That gives her like 8-9 months. Maybe by then he'll be more boring. Just sayin'......
